Lake View Nest Eco Retreat & Homestay

Sikkim is a beautiful and welcoming state. But the time I spent at Deepen and his family’s home was the best I spent there. A tranquil oasis of nature and calm in what otherwise can be quite a loud energetic country! This was the perfect ending to my time in Sikkim before returning to the plains and I will remember it fondly. I contacted Deepen only the day before I was to come to Khechiperi. Luckily he happened to be in Pelling, where I was staying, and offered to pick up my large rucksack that evening, meaning that I could make the hike down through the valley and up to the lake the next day. This turned out to be a truly beautiful hike and would not have been possible were it not for Deepen’s hospitality. Aside from that, the food was utterly fantastic! So great to have real home cooked food! And the room was everything I needed. The bed being plenty warm enough for the mountain nights, which can get a little chilly in February. The bathroom was clean with hot water whenever I needed it. Best of all I could see the snow capped Himalayas from my room, rising above the mountain forest which slopes down the steep hillside to the lake below. Its pretty magical. If i ever make it back this way I will be sure to return. They are really lovely, well meaning and humble people. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Loved the place! Close to nature, wonderful views of the mountains and the lake below and absolutely delicious food! But what really touched me was the way I was looked after.. I had a sprain on my foot and Dippen went out of his way to make hot water soaks for my foot (through our stay there) with local herbal medication in it for me!! Was very very effective

Our stay at Deepen and Chumden’s homestay/ eco-retreat was an unforgettable experience. The food was 100% organic and delicious. The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. We ended up staying 3 nights and 4 days, and found it hard to leave. It’s a place to relax and enjoy nature, and with many visits to nearby holy places. The hosts are very knowledgeable and welcoming. We definitely recommend staying here!

Starting from our arrival till the time we departed , loved every bit about this place. Deepen and his wife chumden are wonderful hosts who always made us feel at home. Food - on point. One of the best meals we’ve had in Sikkim was in chumden’s kitchen ! Rooms - very cozy Campfire - kept us warm every evening Location - mesmerising Hike to the cave - indulging Slept well each night | ate delicious food | hiked to the mountains - this is all we did If you happen to visit Pelling , head over to Deepen’s place. It is a lil off best place , but you will love every minute spent here

It was a wonderful place located in a small serene village. We felt like this is the place to be in after living in a city. The whole family was supportive and took care of us really well though it was a short stay. Amazing food, comfortable place to stay and really clean environment. We are looking forward to staying here again and longer! Definitely consider staying here, if you’re going to West Sikkim.
