5 months agoOrchid Villa at Rinchenpong is a very nice homestay. We got here delicious food. Behaviour of the homestay personnel was extremely cordial, helpful and friendly. Room and bed were very clean. It has a beautiful garden, vast farm land and an orchard, from where one can taste the products free of cost. I stayed here for two days and enjoyed a lot. If I get the opportunity I will visit this homestay again. Its a nice place for staying with family members with kids.

5 months agoOne of the worst experiences we had in Orchid Villa. They are very rude and asked for money for providing tea & snacks. We received very poor service here. The culture and ambience is horrible. There were a few drunk people in the premise who were spoiling the serenity of the mountains. We felt suffocated over here until we left the premise. We really had a terrific experience over here, couldn't expect this.

10 months agoIf you are an avid traveller like ourselves, who travels to the beautiful state of Sikkim every year, and has trekked most of the easy to average trekking paths, the experience will be very average or below average. This resort is literally at a walking distance from the market, yet the food served is quite poor. The rooms are below average. The location, as it is in this part of Sikkim, is good with good views of the mountains. I am quite surprised by the amount of positive reviews this property has received, mainly because we have been to far more remote places than Rinchenpong and the service there has been far far better. I would also like to clarify that we haven't been expecting 5star service from a homestay. Just that the average was not at all up to the mark. The intent was never there.

10 months agoThe experience was quite disappointing. Rooms are quite bad. Food was very very bad. Service doesn't exist. The views are breathtaking, we were lucky to be there during a full moon night. The positive things were the behaviour of the owners and Mr. Chhabi Gurung. We were lucky to have Mr.Gurung as our driver. The guy is an epitome of professionalism and trust.
