a month agoOverall, a nice homestay with a very pleasant and friendly lady host. However, a big negative is this homestay is located in Lower Bhareng while the Forest Checkpost(for starting the trek to Gorkhey) is in Upper Bhareng. So it is a very steep climb of 45mins just to reach the starting point of the trek, exhausting! Location: In Lower Bhareng beside the road. Vehicle drops you just in front of the homestay. The village is quite nice to explore, lovely walk till a waterfall and the monastery. Room: Large room with windows. However, they don't change the bedsheets after a guest leaves. 24hrs electricity available. No hooks for hanging clothes. Toilet: Large and clean. Geyser available. Food: Was quite good and tasty unlike most homestays. The lady host personally cooks and takes care of the guests.

7 years agoThis is a small homestay run by a local couple Phurdoma and Dorjee Sherpa. I was there for three days and felt as if I am staying at my own home. They provide you with the Comfortable rooms with attached toilet and hot water, best Nepali cuisine and can arrange for transport, trekking guides , and the best home made Rhododendron and banana wine. The hospitality is too good. I would like to visit this place again and again...
