2 months agoWe stayed three nights at Mahim and really enjoyed comfortable rooms and warm hospitality. Rooms are with attached bathrooms all new and clean. With scenic view to surrounding hills and village. Rural and quiet. The host Namhang is very helpful and fluent in English which makes communication very easy. He knows a lot about Limboo culture and everything about village and surroundings. His sister Inu cooks exceptional variety of tasty organic vegetarian food in local traditions. Do ask to try milk and butter from their own cow, it is really something.

2 weeks agoTrue homestay experience — the hosts treated us like family with home-cooked meals, cozy rooms with personal touches, and local stories over chai. No hotel vibes, just genuine warmth, culture, and incredible value with all meals included. Already planning to return!

2 months agoA wonderful experience of walking around the Limbu community in Darab village, not far from Pelling. Food and hospitality was A++ with an experience to remember. Unfortunately we were not able to stay here as we were travelling in a group larger than what could be accommodated here. But for sure will return next time at the homestay. Good luck to Naman.

7 months agoWe did not stay at this homestay but went on a guided village tour with the owner and ate lunch prepared by his mother and sister and checked out the rooms in the homestay (new, clean and very inviting) About the walking tour - it was one of the most enriching parts of our trip. He just show us the sights; he explained the history of the Limboo community and gave us a real look into local life. We visited a traditional 200-year-old Limboo house, walked through cardamom fields, and stopped by many local homes and gardens The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and spoke English, answering all our questions about Sikkimese traditions. It felt less like a tour and more like walking with a knowledgeable friend. If you want to understand the real Sikkim beyond the tourist spots, I highly recommend booking a guide for this village walk."
