We travelled from Mumbai to Sikkim for a week-long trip, and exploring Dzongu was high on our list. While searching online, we came across Lingthem Homestay, and the pictures immediately caught our attention. With no personal references or recommendations, we arrived on a rainy evening, not quite knowing what to expect. What followed was an experience far beyond our imagination. We were accommodated in a beautiful cabin with a breathtaking panoramic view of the Himalayas. On clear mornings, we were even fortunate enough to witness the majestic Kanchenjunga right from our room—a truly unforgettable sight. Watching the clouds drift past our window amidst the cool, rainy weather felt almost surreal. We stayed for two nights, and the hospitality extended by Mr. Sandup, the owner, was exceptional. Every meal was a delight—from breakfast and evening snacks to dinner. The food was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared using homegrown vegetables, which made the experience even more special. This was one of the most comfortable, peaceful, and mesmerizing stays of our trip. If you’re travelling to Sikkim, I would highly recommend spending at least a night here. It’s not just a place to stay; it’s an experience you’ll remember long after you’ve left.

I stayed here for a night. It was a perfect stay. In the middle of serene Dzongu Vally, this stay offers great views of kangchenjunga mountain range, Delicious and organic food and sense of the calm. Host is also a good person can spent hours talking to him to know about the culture of the valley. Loved the stay. Recommend.

An unforgettable stay at Lingthem Lyang Homestay! Stunning room with breathtaking views of Mt. Kanchenjunga, surrounded by lush green mountains and snowy peaks — truly felt like living above the clouds. Peaceful, quiet, and perfect to disconnect from the crowds. The hosts were amazing, food was delicious with fresh home-grown vegetables, and the local Dzongu Chi made from fermented millet was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended for an authentic Dzongu stay!

The memories of our stay here leave such a sweet taste! The people are absolute gems. Aaron is the sweetest kid you’ll ever meet, and the way he’s so happily there for everything makes every day at the homestay special. Sangdup is a lovely host and gives you the true essence of Lepcha culture. The grandmom was the icing on the cake, it was so lovely to see her so fit and actively going about her day. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to feel the true culture of Lepcha and Sikkim without the typical luxury. The route to get here is quite hard, but the experience makes it all worth it. Go prepared, and only make the trip if you’re a traveller wanting the full experience and not just another place to sight-see.
