What are the facilities available at Dzongu Homestay?
Dzongu was in my bucket list for quite some time. So I did my homework and chose this homestay as I came to know that this is the very first homestay at Tingbhong and the view of sunrise from this place is unbeatable. Dupden Lepcha came all along to pick us up from Ringhim. His knowledge of Lepcha community is remarkable. I have learned so many things about this ethnic community from him. He accompanied us through our hike to Kussong village and pointed many medicinal herbs on our way.
Talking about the stay, I must mention that upon arriving his place we witnessed the true meaning of homestay. All of them were so clinged to their age old customs. All the family members were so warm and helpful. We were served authentic Lepcha food cooked in traditional style in wooden ovens. Everything in this household were clean, neat.
Loved my stay there. I would love to be their guest again. Lots of love and respect to the entire family.
A very calm homestay surrounded by plants. Dupden ji and his family run this homestay and they are very friendly and helpful.
Room was very clean, food was tasty overall their service was quite impressive. You will get a mesmerizing view of Mt. Pandim,Mt. Kanchanjungha if weather is clear. I had an amazing experience here with my friends.
Hope this helps,Thank you :)
A great place where you can disconnect from the rest of the world and have a peace of mind with a view of snowy mountains on one side and forest mountains on the other. Mr. Dupden and his family are very friendly which in turn will give a very joyous feel from the inside. so finally a nice place to visit and a great opportunity to explore the lepcha tribe traditions.
It’s a great place to stay and very close to nature. This homestay is very well maintained. Members were extremely friendly.Home cooked food was tasty. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We loved the ambience. Perfect place to spent days with friends.
I would highly recommend this place.
I visited recently (25th Oct 2022) with my wife, because we love mountains and treks/hikes. Dzongu felt a like a place from dreams, something you see only in movies. Dupden ji, his wife and his entire family including his brother Pema ji and children are very jovial and cheerful people. They were great hosts !!
Infact everyone we encountered on our way in Sikkim and especially at Dzongu were great. I definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for an off-beat location for 3-4 days. However phone connectivity, electricity supply, medicine and other shops aren't around. So pack wisely beforehand. If you like solitude, nature and her flora-fauna this is the place !!
There is a car service between Dzongu and Mangan but it leaves at a specific time otherwise you will need to reserve a car separately and there is no guarantee that you will find one willing to go till Dzongu.
