Perfect for exploring nature and village ambience at the mountains if that’s your thing. This is a farm stay where you can see various kinds of plants and animals, View of the Kanchenjunga and other snow covered peaks is also unique not something you can experience from anywhere else. Bista ji and his family is very courteous, food is homely and awesome. Only negative is the last patch of road to the homestay, for about 3 kms from hee patal market there is unpaved/ dirt road, there are lots of tourist attractions being built in that area, hope the government does something about the road too.

We didn’t stay here but popped in on the way past coming back from the Rhododendron walk in the forest. We had a lovely enriching chat with Parish over a few glasses of his mum’s rhododendron and guava wines in the peace of the homestay. The environs are delighful. Cheers 🥂

Plus: 1. The location of the homestay is just absolutely top notch if you want a secluded place away from noisy tourist infested areas. From the homestay itself you can watch Kanchenjunga in her full glory. The lush forests around the homestay will refresh your inner sanctum. It's also a paradise for bird watchers during season. 2. The amenities of the rooms are up to mark. Running water, geyser etc is available. 3. The food prepared by the homestay owners have a local touch and tastes quite exquisite. You cannot expect lavish menu like resorts but it is just sufficient. You can also taste (or buy) their home made Rhododendron and grape wines, Ghee made from Yak milk and many more local delicacies. 4. The behavior of homestay owners is really nice. Paresh Dada is very humble. 5. A walk in through the organic farms and cardamom plantations of the homestay will be a pleasant experience. Minus: 1. Not much but the last 4-5 km of road leading to homestay is currently under repair. It's a bit tedious for small cars to make the journey. But once repaired it will be smooth. 2. An electric kettle and provision of room heater (during winter) will just be a perfect addition to this beautiful homestay.

Chhayatal is a heritage homestay located in a remote offbeat place 8kms from Hee town. This place offers a majestic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Kabru and Narsing at a height of 7.5k feet and above. Nearby attractions are red panda bersay rhododendran sanctuary, hiking and local sightseeing. Mountain range is visible from all rooms and windows, you can enjoy the majestic view of the range as it changes its appearance throughout the day with the changing angle of sun. Mr. Bista and his son Paras are very welcoming and warm bheaviour. Property is beautiful, surrounded by flowers, gardens, kiwi and cardamom plantations. It's a heritage homestay as property belonged to the owners great grandfather and they restored it in 2014 however they have still kept the old rooms, tools and few heritage antique items which will remind you of the history in this place. Food options are limited but very hygienic and tasty, they also make homemade wines with very low alcohol content and it's brewed in their home. They are made from kiwi, guava, ginger and different types of flowers and herb. Rooms are very well maintained, with single size and double bed, wooden floors covered in carpets. Bathrooms are western style and geyser facility is available. Both Paras and Mr. Bista are great hosts, well behaved and very friendly. Highly recommended if you are a looking for a calm and quiet place surrounded by plantations and beautiful view of Kanchenjunga. P.S - The road to the homestay is a muddy one making it difficult for the entry of cars especially during rainy season. So you might have to park your car and walk for 10 mins to reach this place, but trust me it's worth it.

Amazing hosts. He deserves an applause for tending to everyone's needs so well and still making it seem so effortless. I visited with my family for a day only. But the interaction we had made me feel so rested I felt I was there for an entire week. He is that refreshing to interact with. He also makes sure nobody is left out at the bonfire, which I think is a true quality to reckon with. The rooms are also nice and cozy. We had everything we needed. Could do with some more sockets though. But it's manageable. Washrooms are clean. Geysers are provided and you can turn it on whenever you take the shower so that was very convenient. Extra blankets were provided when we asked for them. So 100/100 om hospitality. Overall, the place is aesthetically pleasing and refreshes your mind and body ( because most of the food cooked here is from the garden itself, even the fish!) And I miss Simba, Pluto, Bhalu and the white one🥺❤️
