4 years agoFor a birding enthusiast, this place is just right, the owner is knowledgeable, he took us to some great birding spots. His own backyard is a haunt for many species. The place is just basic, very clean. It was winter, hence very cold in the rooms with no heating allowed by the government, apparently. But the hosts (Mr. & Mrs. Sangey Sherpa) make up for the cold with their warmth and hospitality! Great food - simple, fresh, home cooked, served with lot of love! Enjoyed our stay and birding!

2 years agoWe had an amazing stay at Magnolia V H stay. Sangay sherpa ji is an amazing birding guide , with him we had so many lifers for us. It's a lovely place for people who are interested in bird watching. They have birds hiding in their property itself. We were served with the yummiest and organic food all throughout our stay. We were delighted with their hospitality, such a great host. Will be back

a year agoI was on spontaneous motorbike trip to Okhrey, without any plans. The homestay is the first one on the way to Okhrey. Sangi, the owner of the homestay, immediately showed me the room. It was a lovely room, clean with nice warm blankets and clean toilets. The rooms in the homestay were renovated recently. The view was totally awesome. Sangi and his wife made some really tasty food for me. Next day morning Sangi told me all the important local places to visit. My stay was wonderful and comfortable here!

3 years agoI visited the homestay on the 2nd week of April and was quite amazed to get a room over there as being a long weekend, every other homestays were full. But it was a lovely experience staying at Sangey Ji's homestay and it fulfilled my quest to capture birds. Mr Sangey Sherpa has good knowledge of birds and he is a good spotter. He accompanied me to nearby different birding spots as a guide. Also, the homestay's backyard is visited by several bird species. The rooms are basic with the provision of hot water. Food is simple, fresh, home-cooked and tasty. The hosts are available over phone and they always attend you with a smile. Hope to visit this place again and I highly recommend this place and the homestay for both passion and leisure.

3 years agoFar from the madding crowd, if you want to spend a few days in a small hamlet in the Himalayas in search of peace, tranquility and birds... congratulations, you have arrived at the perfect place! We, a small group of birders had visited Okhrey and stayed in Magnolia Home stay during April, 2022 for a couple of days. The stay is very basic but the hospitality was very pleasing. Sangay ji is an excellent bird guide and his warm behaviour had touched our heart. Please note, if you are searching for luxury, you might search elsewhere but if you are into birding, there is no other place better than Magnolia Homestay in and around Okhrey.
