Our 3 night stay at this homestay was an unforgettable experience. Tucked away on the tranquil outskirts of Gangtok, it stands as a serene sanctuary amidst the mountains. The location's beauty is only matched by its peaceful ambiance, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts. What truly sets this place apart, however, are the hosts. Mr. Paul and his son David are the epitome of hospitality, treating their guests with such warmth and care that it transcends the typical guest-host relationship. Their genuine kindness makes you feel like you've found a second home. For those seeking a harmonious blend of natural splendor and heartfelt hospitality, look no further. This homestay is not just recommended; it's a must-visit destination on your travel list.

Perfect in every sense. Gateway for an absolute scenery, the view of snow covered mountains from the top of dias with some delicious breakfast was something that keep on striking my mind and heart every moment. Room was very comfortable and clean. Bonefire was awesome. A must visit place for family or couples or friends..

Malinggo homestay is a hidden gem of a place if you are visiting Sikkim and looking for an authentic Sikkimese village experience. When I entered the gate, I was greeted with a warm welcoming smile of the owner Mr. Paul Rai and his son David Rai and a khada (traditional ceremonial scarf) which is a welcome tradition. Mr. Paul is a highly knowledgeable person regarding information about the Assam Lingzey village, their own property, nearby places to visit as well as travel arrangements around Sikkim. They also provide paid cab service for pick and drop for guests. The Rai family and their staff generously looked after all my requirements for the entire duration of my stay. The entire heritage property is well-maintained with cottages and lush greenery of plants and the malinggo bamboo trees - which is how the property is named. It's delightful to see the 50+ types of beautiful flowers which are all around the property. And yes, I enjoyed the morning time for birding and excellent view for bird photography. I was treated with delicious home cooked organic meals, fresh from their greenhouse. My cottage was cosy, had clean linen, more than enough warm blankets and geyser with good water supply. There's enough space on the property for reading or just enjoying the warm sun during winters. As a solo traveler, I felt completely safe and looked after by the owners and his family. I had such a great time of the peace and quiet time that I extended my stay by one more day. I plan to visit this homestay again for its tranquility and stunning view of the Kanchanjunga mountain. I would highly recommend it to both solo and couple travelers who enjoy Nature.

Absolutely awesome place to visit, beautiful cozy cottage. Amazing home made food and great views. So peaceful that you can hear nature singing all the time. Clean rooms, best food, beautiful view and warm hosting family. Mr paul & David were very friendly and made us feel at home, special aspects include sitting around a bonfire at night & enjoying the delicious snacks. Happy to have visited this place and will definitely visit again.

The booking process with Mr Paul was really smooth and hassle free. I had to change my check in & out dates due to train tickets cancellation which was very well accommodated by Mr Paul. Initially to reach there was a task as the cab driver I had was not familiar with the route. But once there, the location of the place, the peace, the warmth of the room and the cleanliness was superb. Food cooked by the family was just delicious. The view from my cottage was fabulous. Had a heat blower in the room so was super comfortable throughout the stay during the freezing December month. I had gone solo and not intended to travel and just stay in one place and Mallingo served that purpose for me very well. Next time will plan with family and will take help from Mr Paul on visiting good spots nearby. Some recommendations- 1. airtel network issue, so arrangement of wifi would be really helpful. Although the sweet family provided me with a phone I could use for calling and network for all the time that I stayed, but informing ahead about airtel issue would have been appreciated.
