We had the most wonderful stay here. The family was so kind and welcoming to us. We arrived during Diwali and were given opportunities to participate in the Sikkimese celebrations in the quaint town of Darap. The food was healthy, nourishing, and delicious. The chai was some of the best we had, it was such a joy to sit on the comfortable seating outside our cottage that overlooks the valley and Darap. Mr Shiva arranged a wonderful half day local guide to take us into the valley and villages to explore the native flora and culture. We would wholeheartedly recommend this homestay.

We had very pleasant days in Darap at the Daragoan Retreat. The food was extraordinarily good, the people from the homestay were more like family. We had interesting conversations, learned a lot about Darap and slept wonderfully. Come to Darap, it's worth it! And visit this wonderful oasis of peace.

Lovely homestay with the best facilities you could hope for. Situated in West Sikkim and easily reachable from New Jalpaiguri. Felt like home with good food and amazing view. Special thanks to Mr Shiva Gurung and his family who took care of us during the stay and I hope to be back there again!

We stayed for three weeks as a bit of a writing retreat. Shiva, Radha, Neysang, Sumeena, Prashna, and Prabal were fantastic hosts. A perfect balance between looking after us, giving advice, making us feel welcome, and giving us space to explore ourselves and work on writing during the day. Delicious food and a peaceful location. Thanks again. Highly recommend.
