5 months agoRooms are overpriced. The management may claim that the price is high due to it's heritage title. In that case, that old charm has to be maintained. Like Tumsong, Ging and other tea bungalows. The so called heritage homestay doesn't have a lawn. Location wise it's a wonderful place. The staffs are also cooperative. Foods are Okay. But keeping the cost of stay and the "Heritage Title" in mind, the property needs effective management, well maintenance of rooms.

6 months agoWorth staying in this property.. view rooms are preferable. Foods were superb. service was excellent. tea testing was just awesome.. over all it was great experience to cherish. since it was remote location, road condition was not great. it is advisable to prefer local vehicle for reaching the property from sukhia pokhri.

6 months agoA perfectly beautiful place ruined by the manager of the Homestay Mr. Bikash Chaurasiya. I had travelled from Siliguri with my guest on 23rd April for a night to put up at the MIM heritage property. To begin with the road is treacherous for more than 7kms and taking a small car like i20 is definitely not advisable. Mr. Bikash had informed me that only the last leg of the road that is 1km was bad and the rest was fine, which was definitely not the case. My car got damaged for his half baked truth. Now coming to the property, it's a very picturesque cottage with tea garden and Kanchenjunga on a clear day but for people to enjoy the stay the amenities have to be in place! They charged us 5k for a room which was filled with cobwebs, broken cupboard, torn blanket, poor quality towel which doesn't soak even a drop of water, dirty linens, no soap to bathe (only a tiny lifebuoy ) It is a stay that is not worth 5k and should be restored to the original price of 2500. Ok now coming to Mr. Bikash Chaurasiya, upon informing about the ill maintainance of the property he asked me to leave the property, he shouted at me for not knowing the essence of a heritage property, he even when to the extent of asking me to shut up since I am the first person to point out the ill management of the place. I told him I am a well travelled person and I have stayed at various tea gardens since I am from the industry to which he replied I don't care where you have stayed you should have left my property! His arrogance is beyond imagination and I have never received such behaviour from any other homestays in the mountains. He lacks the basic courtesy to talk to his customers and if he remains to be a part of the Homestay it's going to shut shop soon and we will lose a beautiful heritage stay.

7 months agoWe stayed at mim tea bungalow for two nights. This two nights three days are the most memorable time we had spent with our families and friends. We are 6 people and two children. So , we had the whole bungalow for us. Bikash ji and his team is extremely helpful and very cordial with us. We had a great stay. Though the road is extremely bumpy but after reaching the destination you won’t complain . Everything worth it. The food is very testy. Rooms are very much clean and provided with required amenities.. Its a life time experience for us as not only we had a view of kanchanjungha but also the stay in a tea garden is something very different. We tested different Types of Darjeeling tea. We have the best stay ever..
