a month agoWorst homestay ever visited. The owner was drunk and least bothered about the service. I called at around 7 pm to confirm whether they are taking bookings or not and he said yes. Upon arrival at around 8pm, I found that he was totally drunk. When asked about the dinner, he said they don't provide dinner as there is noone to cook. As we were tired, we decided to stay back and requested that we will cook ourselves and he allowed and provided us his kitchen with aloo, dal and bhaat. His drunkard friend kept barging in the kitchen which made us very uncomfortable. In the morning when asked for tea, he said no milk. Disappointed again we settled for black tea. He was drunk again in the morning. When asked for breakfast he said there is nothing and simply cooked us rice, iskus and dal again. His drunkard friend came again and was using filthy language all the time. Overall very bad experience.

9 months agoOne of the best homestay in the area, the ambience is great, the owner of the property is very welcoming, friendly and always has a smile on. Me and my friends had a great experience here for 2 days. There are also various kinds of flowers and plants to see. I recommend this homestay to everyone who visits this place.

8 months agoKanchenjunga View Homestay is one of the best homestay in Yakten Village. The host Mr. Kapil Ji is a very friendly and humble person. The Kanchenjunga Mountain was visible from the room and we were lucky enough to witness it. The meals were prepared with vegetables freshed picked from their garden which were grown organicaly. We were able to enjoy some truly delicious authentic food of that region in the homestay. The Homestay also has a diverse greenhouse hoisting a number of orchids and other valuable medicinal plants. It is a heaven for nature lovers like me.

a year agoI had the best stay at Yakten. The mesmerizing view from the balcony and the serene nature truly healed my mind. It's a perfect place for nature lovers to spend a leisurely two days. The hospitality of the owner, Mr. Kapil Chhetri, and his family was incredible. If you wish to experience local people and local food, this is the best destination for you. The delicious dishes made from fresh, organically grown vegetables by the homestay owner were a treat to my taste buds. The rooms were very clean, although the interiors were too simple. Please don't expect any luxury in this regard. The only downside was that the rooms could have been a little better (1 star less for that), but it was not at all a negative for me and my wife. We stayed there for 2 days (4th and 5th Oct 2024) and enjoyed the stay, the organic farming, the flowers, the orchids, and the tranquil nature a lot.
