a month agoI visited Hitoisi Homestay for the third time, and every time I return, it feels less like a trip and more like coming back home. My first visit was in 2015, and since then this beautiful corner of Sikkim has held a very special place in my heart. Hitoisi is truly a one-stop destination for experiencing the essence of the mountains. Whether you are a lover of trekking, hiking through serene forest trails, or simply soaking in breathtaking Himalayan views, this place offers it all. The natural beauty surrounding the homestay is peaceful, pristine, and deeply rejuvenating. One of the highlights is the authentic organic food prepared with love and care. The flavors are simple yet unforgettable—especially the traditional nettle soup, which is both delicious and nourishing. You can truly taste the freshness of locally grown ingredients in every meal. What made this visit even more memorable was being invited to participate in their cultural celebration associated with “Maha Sapta shrimad bhagvad Purana” and the worship of Krishna before Holi. Being part of such a sacred and heartfelt tradition was an enriching and joyful experience. It gave me a deeper connection not just to the place, but to the culture and people of Sikkim. I left feeling grateful, peaceful, and incredibly happy. If you want to experience the real spirit of Sikkim—its hospitality, culture, food, and natural beauty—I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Hitoisi Homestay at least once in your lifetime. It is not just a stay; it is an experience you will carry with you forever.

4 months agoI’ve travelled through many beautiful corners of Darjeeling and Sikkim over the last few years, but Hitashi Homestay in Martam, West Sikkim is the one place that truly feels like mine. It’s the only place I return to again and again — and every time, I stay as long as I can. This homestay is run by the amazing Gawri Di, her husband, their children, kind neighbours, and even their lovely pets. Together, they create a warmth that can’t be described in words. They don’t just host you — they adopt you into their family. If you come here with an open heart, you’ll receive more love, respect, and kindness than you could ever expect. This is my second stay, and I’m here for two weeks. This time I’m learning Nepali and exploring their culture, and they are genuinely happy to teach me and share everything with me. It’s rare to find people who give so freely. The wooden cottage is cozy, clean, and beautifully made, with perfect mountain views — the kind that stay with you long after you leave. And the food here deserves its own praise: fresh, homemade, soulful meals that taste like pure comfort. Every dish carries the warmth of the family who prepares it. You can walk around the village, meet friendly locals, and enjoy peaceful paths surrounded by nature. Everything here inspires you in some way — the simplicity, the silence, the mountains, and the people. For me, Hitashi Homestay isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s my extended family in the mountains. If you want peace, beauty, and real human warmth — whether you travel alone or with loved ones — this is the place. Just come — and I hope you leave with your own beautiful stories to share.
