Barsey Retreat Homestay

This is truly one of the hidden gems among homestays in Hattaban village. The location is mesmerizing, offering a stunning view of the valley in front and a breathtaking range of mountains beyond. On clear days, the sunrise view is simply unforgettable. You’ll find various types of birds in the valley, often roaming freely in front of the rooms—though they can be a bit shy at times. The homestay features beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean private rooms with cozy blankets, modern bathroom fittings, and geysers. There’s also a reliable backup electricity supply during power cuts. The outdoor balconies are adorned with beautiful flowers, orchids, and succulents, adding to the charm of the place. The homestay is run by the owner and his family, which adds a warm, personal touch to the hospitality. The cost of stay is charged per person and includes delicious home-cooked meals and snacks. One of the most delightful surprises was the family’s deep knowledge and genuine care for the local flora and fauna. They are always eager to help and offer guidance for planning tours. All services are not only good; but excellent as described by the other reviewers. I only add one very personal opinion on food and kitchen. The owners themselves cooked foods mingle with love & care, and also wash the dishes as like as in our household. These all feels us a second home in the lap of The Great Mountain. These hygiene is very much essential for the kids and aged.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Barsey Retreat ! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Plus, the meals were fantastic – we especially enjoyed the Alu paratha and veg pokora !

I recently visited Sikkim with my friends on 9th April, and we had the pleasure of staying at Barsey Retreat Homestay. We opted for their 3 nights and 4 days full package, and I can confidently say—it was the best stay of my life. The natural beauty surrounding this place is simply on another level, something that words can hardly capture. What truly made the experience unforgettable was their warm hospitality. Every single person there made us feel like family. The food was absolutely delicious—comforting, authentic, and satisfying in every bite. Everything was so well organized that we didn’t face a single issue during the entire trip. This trip gave me memories I’ll cherish forever. I would return in a heartbeat, just to relive the peace, beauty, and the heartfelt warmth of Barsey Retreat Homestay once again.
