If you love nature and want to be away from typical tourist spots, Yuksom is a great location. Welcome homestay as name suggests is a very warm and welcome place. Apeng and his family were wonderful hosts for our family. His family runs their farm right outside this stay and you can expect some freshly amd deliciously cooked local food at home. His daughter was very polite and friendly to my kids and they thoroughly enjoyed her company feeding rabbits. If you are especially looking to Trek Dzongri or Goechala, Apeng will arrange all this for you. PS: Apeng is an expert farmer if you want some tips. Thanks for being wonderful hosts. Cheers !

Staying at Welcome HomestayClick to open side panel for more information in Yuksom felt less like a typical booking and more like visiting family, which made my parents' four-day trip truly special. The hospitality from Apeng Ji and his family is genuinely next-level; they go out of their way to make you feel at home, even bringing hot tea to the room every evening. We loved that the meals are made with fresh, organic ingredients straight from their own farm—you can really taste the difference in every bite! The rooms are spacious, sparkling clean, and offer such peaceful views of the surrounding greenery and forest. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but that just adds to the quiet, authentic vibe of the place. We’re already missing the warm energy of the Bhutia family and would recommend this cozy retreat to anyone looking for a real taste of Sikkimese warmth and culture.

I had a fantastic stay at Welcome Homestay. The home-cooked meals were delicious, my room was cozy and clean, the family is super friendly. They brought hot tea for me in the room every evening and helped me to book a taxy. The location is quite secluded, but the place is very peaceful with a beautiful garden. Highly recommend!

It was a great experience tbh. I stayed for 3 days and I don’t know how it passed. The owner is quite friendly and helpful. I really liked the way owner gave a private tour of his Homestay, they have their own self farm. The pets are really good. And Aunty Ji is very sweeet. Must recommend place for anyone. I’m going to visit again for sure.
