Hitaishi Homestay

Our stay at the homestay was very sweet and memorable. The homestay was clean, peaceful, and felt just like home. The host was kind, caring, and always ready to help us. The food was delicious and prepared with love. The rooms were comfortable, and the environment was calm and friendly. We felt safe and happy during our stay. This homestay gave us a warm and beautiful experience that we will always remember.

I’ve travelled through many beautiful corners of Darjeeling and Sikkim over the last few years, but Hitashi Homestay in Martam, West Sikkim is the one place that truly feels like mine. It’s the only place I return to again and again — and every time, I stay as long as I can. This homestay is run by the amazing Gawri Di, her husband, their children, kind neighbours, and even their lovely pets. Together, they create a warmth that can’t be described in words. They don’t just host you — they adopt you into their family. If you come here with an open heart, you’ll receive more love, respect, and kindness than you could ever expect. This is my second stay, and I’m here for two weeks. This time I’m learning Nepali and exploring their culture, and they are genuinely happy to teach me and share everything with me. It’s rare to find people who give so freely. The wooden cottage is cozy, clean, and beautifully made, with perfect mountain views — the kind that stay with you long after you leave. And the food here deserves its own praise: fresh, homemade, soulful meals that taste like pure comfort. Every dish carries the warmth of the family who prepares it. You can walk around the village, meet friendly locals, and enjoy peaceful paths surrounded by nature. Everything here inspires you in some way — the simplicity, the silence, the mountains, and the people. For me, Hitashi Homestay isn’t just a place to sleep; it’s my extended family in the mountains. If you want peace, beauty, and real human warmth — whether you travel alone or with loved ones — this is the place. Just come — and I hope you leave with your own beautiful stories to share.

I had a pleasant stay at this Homestay for a 3 days.The host were very welcoming and friendly .I love the cleanliness of the room. Hospitality of the host. Comfort and safety..
