Hi everyone, I was travelling from Gangtok to Zuluk without any stay booked, and on the way I stopped at the beautiful Gnathang Valley. The people there were incredibly kind. I checked out 3–4 homestays and finally chose Sunset Homestay—and I’m so glad I did. The sunset view from their place is stunning. Sonam, the host, is extremely warm and welcoming. The hospitality was amazing, and the food was delicious. He even woke me up early in the morning for the sunrise after I mentioned I wanted to see it. I highly recommend this stay to anyone visiting Gnathang Valley. Also, Sonam is an ex-army man, which adds to the respect I have for him and his service.

This place was a rescue for me and my husband, we were shivering from cold , uncle assured us and he made tea also burned stove which was so soothing and warm. Don’t expect hotel like services as this place is not something you experience in your daily life, temperature is extreme low during winters and it’s a small valley with low population. Owner and his wife both are welcoming and sweet, they provided us tasty food and we got to learn so much from uncle, his Para commando army experience was so interesting to listen. He also gave us discount. We also made some freinds over there. Overall we had an amazing experience.

Posting again as my earlier review was removed by the owner. I booked this stay through WhatsApp after finding it on Google. The owner shared pictures of the property, and it looked decent enough, so I paid an advance of ₹1000 out of the total ₹3300. However, when we reached the place, it was a complete shock. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, there were no basic amenities, and the overall condition was nothing like the photos shared earlier. We decided not to stay and informed the caretaker, but she was extremely rude and refused to let us leave. Even after we told her that we were fine forfeiting the advance amount, she threatened us and demanded full payment for the stay. The owner, whom we spoke to on WhatsApp, joined the call and insisted on the same. It was completely unfair and illegal. After a long argument, we were finally allowed to leave only after paying an extra ₹500 - despite not staying there at all. It was honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve had. All the rooms were empty, yet every one of them smelled of smoke. I understand it’s a remote area, but that doesn’t justify such treatment and misrepresentation. Please avoid this stay - it’s misleading, unhygienic, and the management is highly unprofessional.

Hospitality from Debi madam and Nima sir was awesome. They're always ready to serve their guests with homely gesture. Food was tasty and less spicy. Affordable option to stay at Gnathang valley.
