Booking Policy

This Booking Policy outlines the terms under which bookings are facilitated by Homestays Sikkim, a local travel platform connecting travelers with verified homestay hosts across Sikkim.


1. Booking Process

  • Guests can book homestays through:
    • WhatsApp message
    • Direct call
    • Inquiry forms on our website
    • Social media messages
  • A confirmation message will be shared once the availability is verified with the host.

2. Advance Payment

  • Most bookings require an advance payment to confirm.
  • The advance amount and payment method will be communicated during the booking.
  • The remaining amount, if any, is payable directly to the homestay upon arrival (unless agreed otherwise).

3. Cancellation Policy

Unless stated differently for a specific homestay:

  • Free cancellation up to 15 days before the check-in date.
  • 50% refund if cancelled 10–14 days before arrival.
  • No refund for cancellations made within 10 days of check-in.

To cancel, contact us directly via WhatsApp, email, or call.


4. Changes to Bookings

  • Date changes or guest count modifications are subject to host availability.
  • We try to accommodate changes wherever possible, but it is not guaranteed.
  • Additional charges may apply for modifications.

5. Responsibility Disclaimer

  • Homestays Sikkim acts as a facilitator and not the final service provider.
  • We vet all listed properties for quality and safety, but cannot be held liable for disruptions caused by weather, personal disputes, or third-party issues.
  • Guests are advised to review photos, inclusions, and location details before confirming the booking.

6. No Show Policy

Failure to arrive without prior notice is treated as a no-show. In such cases:

  • Advance payments will be forfeited.
  • The host reserves the right to offer the room to another guest.

7. Host Policies

Some homestays may have specific:

  • Check-in/check-out times
  • House rules
  • Extra charges for meals or services
    These will be communicated at the time of booking and are considered agreed upon once the booking is confirmed.
